Secondary Glaucoma Following IOL Implantation

Abstract

|
|
A histopathological examination was performed on absolute glaucomatous eyeball.
A 54 years old male had been implanted posterior chamber lens in his right aphakic eye, but intractable ocular pain due to increased intraocular pressure was developed soon after lens implantation. The pain could not be controlled by removal of the intraocular lens. The eyeball was enucleated under diagnosis of absolute glaucoma.
In pathological examination, malpositioning of the intraocular lens caused permanent dense anterior synechia of the iris resulting secondary glaucoma.
